Much has gone on, very much has happened over the last month. For this reason, I have not been able to update this my area for verbal commentary.

I took a class last semester, entitled "Technology and Canada," that class literally blew my mind. I am not disillusioned in the least bit, but in fact my awareness has been raised to perceive the world around me in a completely different way.

I mentioned to someone that man himself is increasingly trying to become God, but that person could not see past the fact that man plays with lives, which leaves serious questions in my mind as to how that particular individual perceives God's actions. Nevertheless, I stray from my point.

I have been made aware of the traps that the successes of technological progress has brought about. I have been asked to be vigilant, and to listen for the intimations of deprivation which continues to go unnoticed in this perpetual dynamo we refer to as life. We are entering a dark age in our civilization.

We are now at the stage when the Easter Islanders could still have halted the senseless cutting and carving, could've gathered the last trees' seeds to plant out of reach of the rats. We have the tools and the mans to share resources, clean up pollution, dispense basic health care and birth control, set economic limits in line with natural ones. If we don't do these things now, while we prosper, we will never be able to do them when times get hard. Our fate will twist out of our hands. And this new century will not grow very old before we enter an age of chaos and collapse that will dwarf all the dark ages in our past.

Now is our last chance to get the future right.
